RunPal

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how RunPal ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We use this to create and manage your account.

Profile Information

You may optionally provide a display name and profile photo. Profile photos are stored securely and are only visible to your crew members.

Location Data

When you start a run, the app collects your real-time location to track your route, distance, and pace. Your location is shared only with supporters you have personally invited to your crew. Location tracking stops when you end your run.

Run Data

We collect information about your runs including duration, distance, pace, and route. This data is used to display your run progress and post-run summary.

Voice Messages

Supporters may record short voice messages (up to 15 seconds) to send to runners during a run. Voice messages are stored temporarily and are accessible only to the intended runner.

Cheer Data

When supporters send cheers, we record the cheer event to display counts and attribution to both runners and supporters.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we store your device token to send you notifications when your runner starts or finishes a run, or when you receive cheers and voice messages.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the core app experience: live run tracking, cheers, and voice messages
To share your live location and run progress with your approved crew members only
To send push notifications about run activity
To display run summaries and cheer statistics
To manage crew relationships and invitations

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is shared only in the following ways:

With your crew: Your live location, run progress, and profile information are shared with supporters you have invited.
Service providers: We use Google Firebase to store and process data. Firebase is subject to Google's privacy policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services, including Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, and Cloud Storage. We use Firebase security rules to ensure that users can only access data they are authorized to view.

5. Data Retention

Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active.
Run data: Retained for as long as your account is active so you can view your run history.
Voice messages: Stored for the duration of the run and retained with the run summary.
Location data: Collected only during active runs. Real-time location is not stored after the run ends.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings
Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
Remove supporters from your crew at any time

7. Children's Privacy

RunPal is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy
